….I stood there in the salt spray air
Felt wind sweeping over my face
I ran up through the rocks to the old
Wooden cross
It's a place where I can find some peace…

Narrow daylight entered my room
Shining hours were brief
Winter is over
Summer is near
Are we stronger than we believe?

MORLEY ERNEST HOFFMAN

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Morley Hoffman on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 58 years.
Left to survive Morley are his brother Garry (Sandra) of Winnipeg; sister Gail (Russ) of Campbell River, B.C.; brother Irwin (Penny) of Tuffnell, Saskatchewan; nieces (Shanna, Melanie, Jill, Lana, Sarah, Rachel, Heidi); nephew (Alexander); as well as numerous great-nieces/nephews; relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Irene Hoffman.
Morley grew up on a farm in Tuffnell, Saskatchewan as the youngest of four children.  He enjoyed fishing, curling and was an avid card and game player. Playing a game with Morley was a competitive sport, he would play fair but he was playing to win.  He also enjoyed teasing and poking fun of his family and friends in a good natured way, which was often followed by his trademark "Morley chuckle." In his professional days, Morley moved to Calgary, Alberta and then Winnipeg where he enjoyed a career at Mediacom hanging billboards around the city.  Unfortunately, an accident on the job in February 1999 led to him being wheelchair bound for the latter part of his life. There were many ups and downs through the years, but these challenges were made easier through the support of his family and friends. Lyle and Leo were great friends to Morley, often helping him and spending time playing cards or visiting him. He also developed a special relationship with his homecare providers, in particular Lauren. She went above and beyond to take care of Morley and provide companionship to him. Morley also had two cats, John-Paul and Garry, who brought him love and entertainment through the years. Although he was sometimes a little gruff on the exterior, he had a kind heart and his love for his family and friends was always felt and will be missed.
A Celebration of Morley’s Life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ronald; father Harvey; and mother Simone.
Sheila grew up in St. Laurent, Manitoba, and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 15. After eventually settling in the city, she met her one and only love Ronald and the two married at the age of 17. Together they raised a family of four boys. Sheila worked extremely hard throughout her life, providing for her family through various positions. Many will remember her 18 years at Robin's Donuts, though her most rewarding career was with Child and Family Services Winnipeg, where her kindness and many strengths helped the lives of so many people throughout the years. Sheila was loved, respected and was a pillar of support for many friends and challenging families in need. She was always known for her car trunk full of much needed clothing and food for the children she cared for, often paid for with her own money. She was selfless when it came to helping others, no matter how stressful her own life would ultimately become after the passing of Ronald, her loving husband. The positive impact Sheila left will forever be felt in the community.
Family was Sheila’s life. She was a very proud mother of her four boys, and an even more proud honorary grandmother and Mémère to her six grandchildren. Her gigantic purse was always stuffed with treats, toys and goodies for them. Sheila loved spending time with family and friends, whether it be camping with her boys, fishing with dad, bingo with friends, wing nights, or shopping in Grand Forks. She particularly enjoyed partaking in some fierce canasta games in Pine Falls with sisters and brothers-in-law, whom she loved dearly. Her colleagues and fellow support workers were also important to her, often helping her through hard times in the absence of her Ronald.
